to our community is to remain positive, build your immune system daily, and continue to practice good cleaning habits. Everything is going to be okay just trust and believe. Remember FEAR weakens the immune system, which makes you more susceptible to catching any illnesses/diseases. Also take the time out to stock up on health/wellness products, water, non-perishable foods, and learn how to start your own herb and veggie garden.

What is Black Seed oil?

Black seed oil is made from the seeds of the black cumin (Nigella sativa). The black cumin plant is native to southwestern Asia, the Mediterranean and Africa.

Black seed has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. It has been so important in the healing process that it is known as “the remedy for everything but death.”

Black seed is the seed of the annual flowering Nigella Sativa plant of the Ranunculaceae (buttercup) family. The Nigella Sativa plant is thought to originate in south western Asia and grows to 5-24 inches in height.

It has been grown for centuries for its aromatic and flavorful seeds that can be used as a spice or as an herbal medicine

The earliest known cultivation of Nigella Sativa was found in ancient Egypt dating back more than 3 thousand years ago, where black seed oil was found in the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun’s tomb. The ancient Egyptians understood the value of the black seed and considered it a panacea. It is narrated in [Saheeh al-Bukharee (5687)] in the 700s A.D. that the prophet Muhammad said the “This black seed is a cure for every disease except death. ”Nigella Sativa is cultivated in Arabia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Middle East, Russia, and Turkey.

Black seed oil is a supplement that I can recommend to anyone to get familiar with. My discovery with Black seed oil started around 2018.  I first found research on black seed oil when researching thyroid disease for a family member and to improve my overall health.

I was at the point of my life that I no longer wanted to ingest any chemicals/toxins in order to prevent sickness. I started researching and was determined to find healthier alternatives. I discovered Black seed oil through one of the best herbalists, Alfredo Bowman, known as “Dr sebi.” I will say since I’ve been taking this supplement I’ve seen major improvements with maintaining a strong immune system.

Benefits of Black Seed Oil

  • Asthma & Allergies

Multiple studies have found that black seed oil has anti-asthmatic effects and depending on the cause of asthma, it was sometimes more effective than conventional treatment. The same properties make it beneficial for relieving allergies for many people.

  • Eczema and Psoriasis

Black seed oil is also used for skin problems like eczema and psoriasis. It helps soothe inflammation and improve the speed and which skin heals.

  • Candida and Fungus

Black seed oil was also shown to be helpful in battling candida and fungal infections in the digestive system and on the skin

  • Cancers

Studies have shown that a compound in black seeds and oil, thymoquinone, helps induce apoptosis (cell death) in leukemia cells. Other studies have shown this same effect in breast cancer cells, brain tumor cells, pancreatic cancer, cervical cancer, and even oral cancer cells and cavity-forming bacteria. Black seed oil is also sometimes recommended as a natural protection against some of the danger from radiation and used in conjunction with conventional treatments.

  • Heart Health

Thymoquinone in Nigella sativa seeds has also been shown to have a protective effect on the heart, promote healthy cholesterol levels and help normalize blood pressure.

  • Immune Health

Nigella sativa is unique in its way of supporting the immune system. It contains the antioxidants, beneficial acids, and B-vitamins you would expect in a natural remedy, but has an additional benefit. Unlike herbs like elderberry or echinacea that require caution for those with autoimmune disease, black seeds seem to balance the immune system, increasing immune function but not encouraging immune reactions against the body’s healthy tissue.

  • Skin and Hair

It is also used to naturally soften, strengthen, and firm skin and help increase hair growth. Reduce scars and to prevent scar formation on wounds.

How to Find Quality Black Seed Oil

Black cumin seed oil is the most absorbable and concentrated form, and from my research, the most effective way to consume black seeds. Ultimately, it is a food product, so make sure that whatever brand you use is high quality and free from harmful additives.

When doing your research, look for brands that are preferably:

  • organic
  • pure-pressed without chemical extraction
  • have no additives or diluting oils
  • protected from rancidity by high-quality light and air-protective glass

How I Use Black Seed Oil

Using black seed oil is pretty simple. I take a teaspoon of the oil straight a couple times a day. During the adjustment period, I recommend you mix it with raw honey until you are ready to take the oil straight.

DO NOT USE BLACK SEED OIL DURING PREGNANCY.  CHILDREN UNDER 1 SHOULD NOT CONSUME. CHILDREN OVER 1 YEARS OF AGE CAN CONSUME 1 tsp at the MAX DAILY. MIX HALF AND HALF OF OIL AND RAW HONEY TO HELP WITH ADJUSTMENTS. TALK WITH HEALTH PHYSICIAN BEFORE CONSUMING.
